How to Draw a Bride (Easy Step by Step)

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The face bowl
Draw the bottom of the head like a round bowl. Start at the left, curve down and around, and stop at the right, leaving the top open.
Step 3: The long veil
On each side of the head, draw a long line that slopes down and out. Then draw a slightly slanted line from its bottom back toward the middle. Make the left and right sides match.
Step 4: The flower crown
Draw a row of small flower loops across the top of the head, with the biggest one in the middle. Let the row curve like the top of the head to finish it.
Step 5: Face, neck and bouquet
Draw two little dot eyes and a small smile. Draw two short lines down from the head for a neck. Then draw a stack of two round flowers in the middle with two little lines hanging down like ribbons.
Step 6: Side flowers
Draw a small circle on each side of the bouquet, near the bottom. Make them about the same size.
Step 7: The wedding dress
Draw a long curved line down from each side of the bouquet, sweeping out like a bell. Join them at the bottom with a row of little bumps, like a wavy scallop edge.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a bride
- Draw the flower loops lightly first and space them evenly across the crown. The one in the middle can be the biggest.
- Make the two sides of the veil match by drawing the left side, then copying its slope on the right.
- For the scalloped hem, draw the bumps from one side to the other like a row of tiny hills, all about the same size.

How to color your bride drawing
Keep the dress white or a very light pink and make the flowers bright, like pink, yellow and purple. For a twist, give the bride a rainbow bouquet or a veil with sparkly stars.
Bride fun fact for kids
Many brides wear white because of Queen Victoria of England. She wore a white wedding dress in 1840, and the idea spread widely after that.
