Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 3 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The front heart
Start with the biggest heart in the middle. Draw two round bumps at the top that dip down in the center, then curve the sides down to a point at the bottom.
Step 3: The left heart
Draw a second heart up and to the left, tucked behind the front heart. Make two bumps at the top and let the right side slide down behind the middle heart.
Step 4: The right heart
Draw a third heart up and to the right, peeking out from behind the front heart. Give it two round bumps and a side that curves down toward the middle.
Step 5: Candy thickness lines
Under each heart, draw a curved line that follows the bottom edge. This makes each heart look like a thick, chunky candy instead of a flat shape.
Step 6: The happy face
On the front heart, draw two small round dots for eyes. Under them, add a little curved smile, like a bowl.
Step 7: The little heart
Inside the left heart, draw a small heart with two tiny bumps on top and a point at the bottom.
Step 8: The star
Inside the right heart, draw a star with five points. Start at one tip and zigzag in and out until you come back to the start.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing candy hearts
- Draw the front heart first, then tuck the other two behind it. Stop their lines where they touch the front heart so they look layered.
- The two bumps at the top of each heart are the trickiest part. Make them round and even, and let the center dip meet in a small point.
- For the thickness lines, copy the curve of the heart's bottom edge a little lower down. Keep the gap about the same all the way along.

Questions about drawing candy hearts
What shapes do I need to draw candy hearts?
You need hearts, which are two round bumps and a point, plus a few curved lines for the thickness. A small dot pair and a curved smile make the face, and a star finishes the candy stamp.
How do I make my candy hearts look cuter?
Give the front heart a big smile and two round eyes, and keep the lines smooth and chunky. Adding a small heart or star on the others makes them feel like candy.
How do I draw a heart that is not lopsided?
Sketch a light vertical line down the middle first. Then draw one bump and one side on each half so they match, and erase the guide line when you are done.
