A playground slide is a great first drawing because it is mostly straight lines and one big curve. You will build it from a rounded square, a pill shape, and a swoopy hill. Add a ladder, two legs and a few tufts of grass at the end, and it looks like a real playground.

How to draw a playground slide step by step

How to Draw a Playground Slide · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: The top box

Draw a rounded square near the top, like a little house for the person about to slide. Leave the bottom open for now.

  2. Step 2: The platform floor

Close the bottom of the box with a flat line that sticks out a little past each side. This is the floor where kids stand before they slide.

  3. Step 3: The long slide

Draw a flat line across the top of the platform floor to make it a long, rounded pill shape. Then, from its right end, draw two curved lines that swoop down like a hill and end in a small flat edge.

  4. Step 4: The ladder sides

From under the left side of the platform, draw two long slanted lines going down. Make them lean a little, like the sides of a tall ladder.

  5. Step 5: Ladder steps and grass

Draw four short flat lines across the ladder, from one side to the other, spaced evenly like steps. Then add a small tuft of grass near the bottom of the ladder.

  6. Step 6: The legs and more grass

Draw one straight line down from the middle of the platform to the ground. Then draw a short straight line down from under the slide, and add two more tufts of grass.

  7. All done!

Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a playground slide

  • Draw the slide curves in one smooth motion, starting at the platform and swooping down. If a line wobbles, try again lightly first.
  • Make the ladder steps the same distance apart. Count them as you go and stop at four.
  • Keep the two ladder sides leaning the same way so they look like a matching pair.
