How to draw Santa's face step by step

How to Draw Santa's Face · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.

  2. Step 2: The hat dome

Start at the left, a little above the middle of the page, and draw a curved line that goes up and over like a hill. Stop on the right, where the pom-pom will go. Leave the bottom open.

  3. Step 3: The hat band

Draw a long, flat rounded rectangle across the bottom of the dome, like a thick stripe. Make it a little wider than the dome so it sticks out on both sides.

  4. Step 4: The pom-pom

At the right end of the dome, draw a small circle for the fuzzy pom-pom. Then draw a short curved line from the pom-pom down to the right end of the hat band.

  5. Step 5: The big beard

Start under the left end of the band and draw a big round shape down and around to the right end of the band. Finish the bottom with bumpy scallops, like little clouds.

  6. Step 6: Eyes and cheeks

Draw two tiny dots for the eyes, high up under the hat band. Then draw a small empty circle a little lower on each side for the cheeks.

  7. Step 7: The nose

In the middle of the face, between the cheeks, draw a small upside-down U for the nose. Leave the bottom open, because the mustache will close it.

  8. Step 8: The mustache

Draw a wide, bumpy shape under the nose, like a sideways bone. Let the top meet the bottom of the nose and make the bottom wavy.

  9. Step 9: Smile hooks

Near each end of the mustache, draw a tiny curved hook, like a little smile. They make Santa look happy.

  10. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing Santa's face

  • Draw the dome first, then add the band across its bottom. Make the band a little wider than the dome so the hat looks fluffy.
  • The mustache is the trickiest part. Start by drawing two small bumps on the left and right, then connect them with a wavy line along the bottom.
  • Place the two eye dots and the two cheek circles at matching heights on each side of the nose, so the face looks balanced.
