How to Draw a Disco Ball (Easy Step by Step)
A disco ball is a fun thing to draw because it is just a circle with lines across it, like a globe made of tiny mirrors. This one has a smiley face, a little loop on top, and four sparkles floating around it. You only need a circle, an oval, curved and straight lines, and a few small diamonds.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The ball
Draw a big circle in the middle of your page. Take your time and make it nice and round.
Step 3: The hanging loop
Near the top of the page, draw a small oval for the loop. Then draw a short straight line from the bottom of the oval down into the top of the ball.
Step 4: Two curved bands
Draw two long, gently curved lines across the ball, one in the upper part and one in the lower part. Start and end each one at the edge of the circle and leave a wide empty stripe between them.
Step 5: The happy face
In the wide middle stripe, draw two round dots for eyes, side by side. Then add a small curved smile between and below them.
Step 6: Top curved line
Near the top of the ball, draw one more curved line from one side of the circle to the other. It crosses the hanging line and sits above the upper band.
Step 7: Top slanted lines
In the space between the new curved line and the upper band, draw four slanted lines, two on each side of the hanging line. Start each one at the curved line and lean it outward as it goes down to the band.
Step 8: Bottom center lines
Below the lower band, draw one straight line down the middle, from the band to the bottom edge of the ball. Then draw a short curved line across it from one side of the ball to the other.
Step 9: Bottom slanted lines
Draw four slanted lines in the bottom part, two on each side of the middle line. Start each one at the lower band and lean it outward as it goes down to the edge of the ball.
Step 10: Little sparkles
Draw four small diamonds around the ball, one near each corner of your page. Add a tiny diamond inside each one to make it look like a sparkle.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a disco ball
- Draw the circle lightly first. If it comes out a bit wobbly, that is okay, because the lines inside will help hide it.
- Curve the two bands just a little, so they follow the shape of the ball. That helps it look round instead of flat.
- For the sparkles, draw a small diamond first, then add a tinier diamond inside it.

Disco ball fun fact for kids
A disco ball is covered in many tiny mirrors. When a light shines on it and the ball spins, the mirrors bounce small spots of light all around the room.
