How to Draw a Guinea Pig (Easy Step by Step)
A guinea pig is a great first animal to draw because it is mostly one big, soft shape with a few tiny parts. You only need curved lines, a small circle, short U shapes and dots. The chubby body and tiny feet make it look cute, even if your lines wobble.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The body
Draw a big curved line for the top and back of the body, like the right side of a wide oval. Start at the top left, curve over and down the right side, and end along the bottom, leaving the left end open.
Step 3: Head and cheek
Start where the top line of the body ends on the left. Curve down and around to make a round, chubby head and cheek, then sweep back along the belly until the line meets the bottom of the body.
Step 4: The ear
Draw a small circle near the top of the head, just behind the face.
Step 5: Two little feet
Draw two short U shapes hanging from the bottom of the body, one near the front and one near the back.
Step 6: Face and hair
Add two small dots on the face: one higher up for the eye and one lower at the front for the nose. Draw a little curved smile under the nose, then three short curved hairs sticking up from the top of the head.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a guinea pig
- Make the body wider than it is tall. A long, fat shape looks much more like a guinea pig than a round ball.
- The head and body are one connected shape, so do not draw a neck. Let the line flow smoothly from the cheek into the belly.
- Keep the feet small and close to the body. Short U shapes make them look tiny and cute.

How to color your guinea pig drawing
Try orange and white patches, or brown with a cream tummy, like real guinea pigs. Color the ear a little darker than the face, and leave the three hairs on top dark or give them a bright color.
Guinea pig fun fact for kids
Guinea pigs talk with squeaks called wheeking. They often wheek loudly when they hear someone bringing food.
