How to Draw a Lamb (Easy Step by Step)
A lamb is a happy drawing built from just a few easy shapes: a circle for the head, a puffy cloud for the wool, two ovals for ears, and four skinny legs. The bumpy body is the fun part, because there is no wrong way to make a cloud of curls.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The head
Draw a round circle near the top for the lamb's face. Keep it nice and round, because it sits in the upper middle of the picture.
Step 3: The fluffy body
Draw a big wide cloud shape below the head. Start at one side of the chin, bump along the top and sides with lots of little curves, and finish with a gently curved line along the bottom.
Step 4: The two ears
Draw a long oval on each side of the head. Let the inner end of each oval touch the face so the ears stick out sideways.
Step 5: The wool tuft
On top of the head, draw a small bumpy cloud shape, like a little puff of wool. Start and end it on the top of the head circle.
Step 6: The left legs
Draw two tall, thin U shapes hanging down from the bottom of the body on the left side, side by side. Make them the same length.
Step 7: The right legs
Draw two more tall, thin U shapes hanging down from the bottom of the body on the right side, matching the left pair.
Step 8: The hooves
Draw a short straight line across the bottom of each of the two middle legs to make the hooves. Each line connects the left and right sides of its leg.
Step 9: The happy face
Draw two small round dots for eyes, one on each side of the face. Then draw a little curved smile between them, a bit lower.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a lamb
- Draw the head circle first, then let the wool body start at the sides of the chin so the head looks like it sits in front.
- For the fluffy body, make lots of small, round bumps instead of one long line. Lift your pencil between bumps if it helps.
- Draw the four legs as long skinny U shapes and keep them about the same length, so your lamb stands up straight.

How to color your lamb drawing
Leave the wool white or color it a soft cream, and try pink for the ears and dark gray for the legs and hooves. For a creative twist, color the wool in rainbow swirls to make a cotton candy lamb.
Lamb fun fact for kids
Baby sheep are called lambs, and a newborn lamb can usually stand up and walk within an hour or so of being born.
Questions about drawing a lamb
What shapes do I need to draw a lamb?
You need a circle for the head, a big bumpy cloud for the body, two ovals for the ears, and four tall U shapes for the legs. Two dots and a little curve make the face.
How do I make the wool look fluffy?
Draw many small rounded bumps all the way around the body instead of a smooth outline. Bumps of different sizes look the most like real wool.
How do I make my lamb look cuter?
Set the two eyes wide apart and add a small smile between them, a little lower. A little puff of wool on top of the head helps too.
