How to draw a candy apple step by step

How to Draw a Candy Apple · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.

  2. Step 2: The apple

Draw a big round apple shape, a little wider at the top than the bottom. Make a small dip in the middle of the top, and a tiny dip at the bottom too.

  3. Step 3: The stem

Start at the dip at the top and draw a short, bendy stem going up. Curve it over a little at the end, like a tiny hook.

  4. Step 4: Candy drip line

Starting on the left edge of the apple, draw a wavy line across to the right edge. Make the waves dip down like melted candy dripping, with a few drips that hang lower than the rest.

  5. Step 5: The stick

Under the apple, draw two short straight lines going down, side by side, and close them at the bottom with a small curve. Add a tiny knot in the middle of the stick and two little slanted lines at the bottom.

  6. Step 6: The bow

Draw a pointy loop on the left of the stick and another on the right, so they meet in the middle at the knot, like a bow tie.

  7. Step 7: Sprinkles and shine

Draw short little dashes on the top part of the apple, each tilted a different way. Add one curved shine line near the top left.

  8. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a candy apple

  • Draw the apple big and round first, and leave space underneath for the stick and the bow.
  • The wavy candy line is the trickiest part. Go slowly and make the drips different lengths, with some short and some long.
  • Make the sprinkles short dashes and tilt each one a different way. They look best when they are not too close together.
