How to Draw a Pineapple Pirate (Easy Step by Step)
A pineapple wearing a pirate hat and an eye patch is a silly mix, and that is what makes it fun to draw. It is built from a rounded body, a wide bean-shaped hat, a few pointy leaves, and crisscross lines. Even beginners can finish it in one sitting.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: Rounded body outline
Draw a big U shape in the middle of your page. Start high on the left side, curve down around the bottom, and end high on the right side. Leave the top open and leave room above for a hat.
Step 3: Hat and belly marks
Draw a wide, curvy hat like a sideways bean with a dome in the middle, with the brim sticking out past both sides of the body, then fill it in solid. Add a few short slanted lines crossing on the lower belly, a tiny curved smile in the middle of the face, and a small bracket shape on the right side.
Step 4: Spiky leaves
Peeking out from behind the top of the hat, draw pointy leaf shapes like little flames. Make the tallest one in the middle and smaller ones leaning out to each side.
Step 5: Little arms
On each side of the body, draw a curved line that bends like a banana. Give each one a tiny curl at the bottom for a hand.
Step 6: The eye patch
On the right side of the face, draw a small rounded patch shape, like a little bowl, just under the hat brim. Fill it in solid.
Step 7: The open eye
On the left side of the face, next to the smile, draw a small solid circle for the open eye.
Step 8: Long diamond lines
Draw one long slanted line from the upper left of the belly down to the middle, then another long line from the middle up to the upper right, so they make a big V. Add a short slanted line at the bottom to finish the diamond pattern.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a pineapple pirate
- Draw the hat after the body so you can see how wide to make the brim. It should stick out past the sides a little.
- The belly pattern is the trickiest part. Keep your slanted lines about the same distance apart, and let the long lines in the last step cross the short ones you drew earlier.
- Keep the leaves different sizes. One tall leaf in the middle and shorter ones on the sides will look better than five that are all the same.

How to color your pineapple pirate drawing
Try golden yellow for the body, green for the leaves, and brown or black for the hat. For a creative twist, add a gold skull to the hat or give the pirate a red bandana instead.
Pineapple pirate fun fact for kids
A pineapple is not one fruit but many small fruits that grew together. Each section on the outside came from a separate flower.
