Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The flag pole
Draw a small circle at the top for the ball. Then draw two long straight lines going down from it to make a tall, thin pole, and close the bottom with a little curve.
Step 3: Top and bottom waves
Start at the pole and draw a wavy line going right for the top edge of the flag. Then draw another wavy line below it, also starting at the pole, for the bottom edge.
Step 4: The flag's side edge
Connect the right ends of your two wavy lines with a gently curving line down the side. This closes up the flag shape.
Step 5: The big heart
In the middle of the flag, draw two round bumps side by side that meet in a little dip. Then curve both sides down to a point at the bottom.
Step 6: Two left sparkles
Draw two small diamond shapes with rounded corners on the left side of the flag, between the pole and the heart. Put one higher up and one lower down.
Step 7: Dot and big sparkle
Draw a tiny circle near the top right of the flag. Then draw one more diamond shape, a little bigger than the others, in the lower right.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a heart flag
- Draw the pole first so the flag has a place to attach. Use a ruler or the edge of a book if your lines wobble.
- Make the top and bottom waves match by having them dip and rise at the same spots. Look at both lines before you connect the side.
- For the heart, draw the two bumps first and the point last. Keep it in the middle with room around it for the sparkles.
