How to Draw a Valentine Jellyfish (Easy Step by Step)
This little jellyfish is a bubble-shaped dome with a smiling face, wavy tentacles, and floating hearts. It is built from a half circle, two dots, and lots of wiggly lines, so it is a great first sea creature for young artists. The hearts make it perfect for a Valentine's Day card.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The dome head
Draw a big upside-down bowl shape for the head. Make the bottom edge wavy, like a little scalloped frill with soft bumps.
Step 3: The happy face
Add two round filled dots for eyes in the middle of the head, with space between them. Then draw a tiny smile between them, shaped like a small curvy w.
Step 4: Left tentacles
Under the frill, a little left of the middle, draw two long wiggly lines that start at the frill and wave down like ribbons. Add a short curvy line beside them for a thin twin.
Step 5: Middle tentacles
Next to those, draw two more long wavy tentacles hanging down from the middle of the frill. Let them swish toward each other near the bottom.
Step 6: Right tentacles
On the right side, draw two wavy lines side by side that start under the frill and curl gently down. Join them at the bottom so they make one long ribbon.
Step 7: Short inner wiggles
Between the middle and right tentacles, draw two short wavy lines that start partway down and swirl toward the bottom.
Step 8: Top right heart
Floating above the dome on the right, draw a small heart. Make two little bumps on top and bring them down to a point.
Step 9: More floating hearts
Draw a second heart on the right side lower down, and a third heart on the left side near the tentacles. Tilt them a little so they look like they are drifting.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a valentine jellyfish
- Start the dome with a light half circle and make it wide. A wide head gives the jellyfish room for its face and a cute, round look.
- The tentacles are the trickiest part. Draw them slowly in one smooth S shape, and let some be longer than others so they look like they are floating.
- For the hearts, draw two small bumps and then join them into a point. Make each heart a slightly different size so they look like they are drifting.

Valentine jellyfish fun fact for kids
Jellyfish have no brain, no heart, and no bones, and their bodies are about 95 percent water. They have been drifting in the oceans for hundreds of millions of years, long before the dinosaurs.
