A baby rhino is a great first animal because it is made almost entirely of ovals and triangles. You will draw a big head, a puffy snout, a round tummy with little arms and feet, round ears, and two pointy horns. The little smile and dot eyes make it look friendly right away.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 3 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The head
Draw a big wide oval near the top of your page for the head. Leave the bottom of the oval open, because the snout will fill that gap.
Step 3: The round snout
Draw a smaller oval low on the face, starting inside the open bottom of the head. Make it wide and puffy like a pillow.
Step 4: The round body
Under the snout, draw the top of a big round tummy. Start at the bottom of the snout on one side and curve down and around to the other side, leaving the bottom open.
Step 5: Arms and feet
Draw a short curved line inside each side of the tummy for the arms. Then draw a small sideways oval at each bottom corner of the body and join the two feet with a gentle curved line.
Step 6: Round ears
Add a half circle on each top corner of the head for the ears. Draw a smaller curve inside each one.
Step 7: The big horn
On top of the snout, draw a tall triangle with a rounded tip. Close the bottom with a flat curved line.
Step 8: The little horn
Higher up on the forehead, draw a tiny triangle like the big horn. Make it much smaller than the big horn.
Step 9: Eyes and smile
Draw two small dots for eyes, one on each side of the big horn. Then add a curved smile across the snout under the horn.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a baby rhino
- Leave the bottom of the head oval open, then draw the snout oval so it starts in that gap. This is what makes the face look like it has a nose.
- Make the big horn a tall triangle with a rounded tip. If it looks too sharp, round the top with a small curve.
- Keep the two feet the same size by drawing the left one, then matching it on the right at the same height.
