Hickory Dickory Dock is a rhyme about a mouse who runs up a clock, and this drawing puts the mouse right beside a tall grandfather clock. It is built from simple shapes: a rounded box, circles and a few curvy lines. Once you have the clock standing, the little mouse and the music notes are the fun part.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The clock top
Draw a box with rounded top corners, like a little arched window. Close the bottom with a flat line.
Step 3: The clock face
Draw a big circle in the middle of the clock top. Leave a little space between the circle and the box.
Step 4: Hands and marks
Draw a short line from the center of the circle straight up, then a small hook to the right for the hand. Add a small dash inside the circle at the right, left and bottom.
Step 5: Sides and base
Draw a straight line going down from the bottom of the clock top on the left. Draw a shorter wobbly line on the right, then finish with a long flat rectangle at the bottom for the clock's base.
Step 6: The pendulum window
In the middle of the tall body, draw a tall shape with a round top and a flat bottom, like a little doorway.
Step 7: The pendulum weight
Near the bottom of the doorway, draw a small circle.
Step 8: Pendulum and mouse
Draw a straight line hanging down from the top of the doorway to the circle. Then, beside the clock, draw a small mouse: a round head with an ear on each side, two dots for eyes and one for the nose, a round tummy, and little arms and feet.
Step 9: The long tail
Start at the mouse's feet and draw a long, wiggly line that curves out to the right and ends in a little curl.
Step 10: Music notes
On the left, draw three music notes. Make a small flag-topped stick for each of the two single notes. For the last one, draw two stick notes joined by a slanted bar across the top.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing Hickory Dickory Dock
- Draw the clock top with a light pencil first. Keep both sides the same height so the rounded top looks even.
- Use a round object like a cup lid or a coin to trace the clock face if your circle comes out wobbly.
- The mouse is the trickiest part. Start with the head circle, then add the tummy underneath, and draw the ears so they sit on the head.
