How to Draw a Pioneer Girl (Easy Step by Step)
A pioneer girl is a sweet character to draw because she is made of simple, friendly shapes. Her bonnet is a dome, her skirt is a wide bell, and her apron is one big rounded U. Add braids, puffy sleeves and a little basket and she is ready for a trip down the prairie trail.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Bonnet arches
Start with a big rounded dome for the bonnet, then draw a smaller curve inside it for the edge of the face. The two curves should hug each other like a rainbow.
Step 3: Hair lines
Under the bonnet, draw two soft curved lines that sweep down from the middle toward each side, like gentle bangs. They should start near the top of the face and end at the bonnet edge.
Step 4: Two eyes
Draw two small round dots for the eyes, low on the face and the same distance from the middle. Keep them the same size and at the same height.
Step 5: Smile, braids and collar
Draw a tiny curved smile between the eyes. On each side of the face, draw a bumpy braid that hangs down, and under the chin draw a little wavy collar.
Step 6: Shoulders and skirt
Draw two short slanted lines for the shoulders, going out from under the chin. Below the head, draw the skirt as a wide shape that flares out toward the bottom, with a wavy hem and a straight top.
Step 7: Apron
Draw a small square bib under the collar, then run two straps down on either side. Join the straps with a big rounded U shape that covers the front of the skirt.
Step 8: Puffy sleeves
Draw two puffy sleeves hanging down from the shoulders, curving out like long bean shapes. At the end of each sleeve, add a small round circle for the hand.
Step 9: The basket
Next to the left hand, draw a wide rim, then a curved bowl below it that is a little narrower at the bottom. This is the basket she carries.
Step 10: Shoes
Peeking out under the hem, draw two short legs. Give each one a rounded, flat shoe shaped like a little oval.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.
