How to draw a love monster step by step

How to Draw a Love Monster · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.

  2. Step 2: Head and ears

Draw the top of the head as a big rounded dome with a small loop on each side of the top for the ears. Let the sides curve down and slightly out, and stop at the bottom with a little curl inward.

  3. Step 3: The round belly

Start at the bottom of one side and draw a big curve down and across to the bottom of the other side. This makes a chubby, rounded belly like a wide bowl.

  4. Step 4: Two little feet

Draw two small flat ovals under the belly, one on the left and one on the right. Make them about the same size.

  5. Step 5: Eyes and mouth

Fill in two round dots for the eyes, side by side in the middle of the face. Between them, draw a tiny wavy line for the smile.

  6. Step 6: The big heart

On the belly, draw the top of a heart with two soft bumps and a dip between them. Then draw two slanted lines going down from the bumps to meet at a point at the bottom.

  7. Step 7: Hugging arms

Draw a curved arm on each side of the heart. Start each line out by the side of the belly, curve it around the edge of the heart, and let it swoop back out below.

  8. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a love monster

  • The heart is the trickiest part. Draw two soft bumps first, then two lines that meet at a point, and keep both bumps about the same size.
  • Let the arms curve around the heart so it looks like the monster is really holding it.
  • Place the eyes far apart and the tiny mouth between them. That makes the face look sweet and sleepy.
