A cat peeking out of a pumpkin is a cozy fall drawing that is easier than it looks. It is built from a round head with two ears, a wide bowl shape for the pumpkin, and a few curved lines. Small paws, whiskers and a curly tail finish the picture.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Head and ears
Draw a round dome for the top of the cat's head, with two sides that curve down and stop. Add a pointy-topped ear on each side of the dome, like two little bumps.
Step 3: The pumpkin bowl
Start at the left, just below the head, and draw a wide curve that sweeps down, across the bottom and back up on the right. It makes a round, wide bowl shape and the top stays open.
Step 4: The front rim
Draw a slightly wavy line straight across the pumpkin, just under the cat's head. This is the edge the cat peeks over.
Step 5: The pumpkin ribs
Draw four curved lines from the rim down to the bottom of the pumpkin, two on each side. Bend them like parentheses, so the middle section is the widest.
Step 6: Eyes, nose and mouth
Draw two small dots for eyes on the head. Between them, below, add a tiny nose line with a little 'w' shaped smile under it.
Step 7: Whiskers and paws
Draw three short lines sticking out from each side of the face for whiskers. Then draw a small rounded paw on each side where the head meets the pumpkin rim.
Step 8: The curly tail
On the right, draw a curved tail that rises up from behind the pumpkin. Finish it with a tiny curl at the top.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a cat in a pumpkin
- Draw the head dome lightly first, so the pumpkin rim can sit right under the chin.
- The pumpkin ribs look best when they bend outward like parentheses, so start each one at the rim and curve toward the bottom.
- Keep the paws small and round, and let them sit right on the pumpkin rim so the cat looks like it is leaning out.
