Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The head
Draw an egg-shaped oval near the top right of your page. Make it a closed loop, wider than it is tall.
Step 3: Neck, back and tail
From the bottom left of the head, draw a long line sloping down and to the left, then turn it into a back that runs left to a pointy tail that curls down. Start a second line at the right of the head and curve it down to make the front of the long neck and chest.
Step 4: Two leg arches
Near the bottom of the body, draw two upside-down U shapes, one on the left and one on the right. They are the tops of the chunky legs, so leave a gap between them.
Step 5: Back foot and belly
Under the left leg, draw a flat, wide oval for the foot. Then draw a short, gently curved line from the foot toward the right leg for the belly.
Step 6: The front foot
Draw another flat, wide oval under the right leg for the second foot.
Step 7: Face and head bump
Draw a small half circle on top of the head like a little bump. Then add a dot for the eye, a tiny dot for the nostril, and a short curved smile near the bottom right of the head.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a brachiosaurus
- Draw the two neck lines so they lean the same way and stay about the same distance apart, which keeps the neck from looking wobbly.
- Draw the leg arches inside the body, then put each flat foot oval right under its leg so the dinosaur looks like it is standing.
- Make the eye dot a little bigger than the nostril dot, and place both near the right side of the head so the dinosaur seems to look ahead.

How to color your brachiosaurus drawing
Try soft greens and blues with a lighter belly, or give your dinosaur gentle polka dots. For a creative twist, draw tall trees beside it and color the top leaves so it looks like your brachiosaurus is munching them.
Brachiosaurus fun fact for kids
The name Brachiosaurus means "arm lizard" because its front legs were longer than its back legs.
Questions about drawing a brachiosaurus
What shapes do I need to draw a brachiosaurus?
You need an oval for the head, two upside-down U shapes for the legs and two flat ovals for the feet. Long curved lines make the neck, back and tail, and a small half circle on top of the head finishes it.
How do I make the neck look long and not bendy?
Draw the two neck lines slowly and keep them nearly parallel. If one line wobbles, you can go over it lightly again to smooth it out.
How do I make my brachiosaurus look cuter?
Use a big round head, a dot for the eye and a small smile. Chubby legs and wide feet also make it look friendly.
