How to draw a lemon step by step

How to Draw a Lemon · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.

  2. Step 2: Lemon body

Draw a wide oval for the lemon. Make a small pointed tip on the left side and on the right side, like little pinched corners.

  3. Step 3: Stem and leaf

Draw a short curved line going up from the top of the lemon for the stem. At the top of the stem, draw a pointy leaf shape like a stretched-out almond.

  4. Step 4: Leaf vein

Inside the leaf, draw one short, gently curved line along the length of the leaf, starting near the stem end. It is the middle rib of the leaf.

  5. Step 5: Face and shine

On the upper left of the lemon, draw a short curved line that follows the edge of the oval for a shiny spot. Then add two small dots for eyes and a tiny curved smile between them.

  6. Step 6: Slice circles

Off to the side, draw a big circle for the lemon slice. Then draw a smaller circle inside it, with the same center, to make the peel.

  7. Step 7: Slice wedges

Inside the small circle, draw one straight line from top to bottom. Then draw two more straight lines that cross it in the middle, so the slice is split into six wedges.

  8. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a lemon

  • Sketch the lemon body as a light oval first. Then pinch the left and right ends into small points so it looks like a lemon and not an egg.
  • Draw the leaf as a stretched almond that starts where the stem ends. Keep the vein line gently curved, not straight.
  • For the slice, draw the straight line through the middle first. Then add the two crossing lines so all three meet in the center and the wedges come out evenly sized.
