How to Draw a Water Slide (Easy Step by Step)
A water slide is a great drawing for a hot day because it is mostly long, smooth curves and a few short straight lines. You will start with the tall left leg and the top, add the swooping slide and its far wall, and finish with ladder rungs and lines across the slide. If you can draw a big curved hill and a few short lines, you can draw this.

Step 1: Top and left leg
Start at the bottom left with a tall, slightly slanted line that ends in a little rounded foot. Draw up to a rounded top, then curve down to the right in a long swoop that stops near the middle. Add a short slanted line beside the tall line to make the leg look thick.
Step 2: Underside of the slide
Start where the leg meets the top and draw a long curve that dips down and sweeps toward the bottom right. Let it flatten out near the ground.
Step 3: Far side wall
Start with a small hook at the top, then draw a tall curve that slides down and bends out to the right. Finish with a round bump at the bottom right and a short line back toward the left.
Step 4: Inner edge and base line
Start at the top of the slide and draw a curve that runs beside the far wall until it reaches the bottom right corner. Then add a short curved line near the bottom that goes up from the ground.
Step 5: Ladder rungs
Between the left leg and the slide, draw three short, nearly flat lines like the rungs of a ladder. Stack them one above the other, with the lowest one near the bottom.
Step 6: Lines across the slide
Inside the slide, draw three short lines that go across from one side to the other. Space them out evenly from the top to the bottom.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a water slide
- Draw the big curves slowly and let your hand swing in one smooth motion, like tracing a hill.
- Keep the two slide edges about the same distance apart all the way down so the slide looks like one ribbon.
- Draw the ladder rungs and the lines across the slide last, and tilt them a little the same way.

How to color your water slide drawing
Try bright blue and turquoise for the slide, and yellow or red for the left leg and ladder rungs. Use a lighter blue for the inside of the slide so the lines across it stand out.
Water slide fun fact for kids
Water slides use a steady flow of water to reduce friction, which is why riders glide down instead of sticking to the surface.
