Step 1: Head outline pieces
Draw a short curve across the top for the head, then a curved line down the left side and another down the right side. Leave a gap between the lines, like a round head with the bottom still open.
Step 2: The round ears
Draw a small round circle on the top left of the head and another on the top right. Each one sits right where the top curve meets the side line.
Step 3: Back line and front leg
Start at the left side of the head and draw a long curve sweeping out and down to the left for the panda's back. Then draw a big chubby bean shape under the head, leaning to the left, for the front leg.
Step 4: The two feet
Draw a big round shape at the bottom left, where the back line ends, for the back foot. Draw another round shape at the bottom right, under the head, for the front paw.
Step 5: The eye patches
Draw two tilted ovals on the face, one on each side. Lean the tops away from each other and the bottoms toward the middle, like sleepy eyes.
Step 6: The little nose
Between the eye patches, draw a small, rounded oval for the nose.
Step 7: The bamboo stick
Below the nose, draw a tall, narrow rectangle standing up between the front leg and the front paw. Start at the top with a flat line, then go down both sides and close it with a soft curve at the bottom.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a panda lying down
- Leave the bottom of the head open at first. The front leg and paws will cover that part later.
- The two eye patches should tilt toward each other. Sketch them lightly first so you can nudge them until they look matching.
- Draw the bamboo stick as a tall, narrow rectangle, then round the bottom so it looks like it sits between the front leg and the paw.
