How to draw a mosque step by step

How to Draw a Mosque · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Ground and hall

Draw a long flat line near the bottom for the ground. Then draw a wide box standing on it, with a straight line across the top. Add a short wobbly line going up from the top left corner of the box.

  2. Step 2: The big dome

Draw a big round arch on top of the hall, like a giant ball peeking out. Let its sides curve down and meet the top corners of the box.

  3. Step 3: The arched door

In the middle of the hall, draw a tall door with straight sides and a round top, like a tunnel. Start both sides on the ground line.

  4. Step 4: The left tower

On the left of the dome, draw a tall straight line going up from the left end of the ground. Add a pointy triangle roof on top that leans against the dome. Then draw a short line across under the roof and a small oval window below it.

  5. Step 5: The right tower

On the right side, draw a tall straight line going up from the ground, with a triangle roof on top that leans against the dome. Add a short line across under the roof and two small oval windows, one above the other.

  6. Step 6: Crescent moon

Draw a crescent moon floating above the top of the dome, like a banana curved into a smile that faces sideways. Add a tiny stem to join the moon to the dome.

  7. All done!

Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a mosque

  • Draw the big dome with a light curved line, and let its sides meet the top corners of the hall. It does not have to be a perfect circle.
  • Use the ground line as a guide so both towers start at the same height.
  • For the crescent moon, draw one big curve, then a smaller curve inside it that meets the first at both pointy ends.

Mosque fun fact for kids

Many mosques have tall, thin towers called minarets. Long ago, people climbed them to call everyone to prayer, because a tall tower helps a voice carry far across a town.

Questions about drawing a mosque

What shapes do I need to draw a mosque?

You need a box for the hall, tall thin shapes for the towers, triangles for the tower roofs, a big round dome and an arch for the door. A crescent moon floats on top.

How do I make my mosque dome look round?

Start at one top corner of the hall and sweep up and over in one slow curve to the other side. Go slowly and lightly, then trace over it once you like the shape.

How do I make both towers look alike?

Start both towers on the ground line and give them roofs at about the same height. The left tower has one window and the right tower has two, so they do not have to match exactly.
