Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Body outline
Trace over the oval with a curved line: start at the upper right, go over the top, and come down the left side. Then draw the right side up from the bottom, leaving small gaps at the bottom for the feet.
Step 3: Big horn and snout
On the upper right of the body, draw a tall, curved horn that sweeps up to a point like a banana. Then curve the line back down and in to meet the right side of the body.
Step 4: Chunky feet
At the bottom, draw a small flat toe bump in the middle and a curve underneath that joins the two feet. Then add a short slanted line on the right foot.
Step 5: Top back spikes
On the upper left of the back, draw three small curved spikes in a row, like little shark fins. Make each one point up and a bit to the left.
Step 6: Lower back spikes
Keep going down the left side of the back with four more pointy leaf shapes. Start each one at the body line and let the tip stick out to the left.
Step 7: Arm and belly curve
On the right side of the body, draw a tiny rounded arm like a little ear shape. Then draw a curved hook on the belly, like a smile turned on its side.
Step 8: Eye and mouth
Draw a round dot for the eye on the head. Then add a short, flat line below and to the right of the eye for the mouth.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a styracosaurus
- Start with the big oval and trace it slowly. Everything else attaches to the body, so a smooth, round shape helps a lot.
- The back spikes are the trickiest part. Draw each one like a small leaf shape with the tip pointing out, and keep them about the same size.
- For the horn, draw one gentle curve going up and another curve coming back down so the two lines meet at a point.
