Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The tank box
Draw a wide box with rounded corners for the front of the glass tank. Cut the top left corner with a short slanted line.
Step 3: Front glass edges
Draw a straight line across the front of the tank just under the top edge. Then draw a tall line down the right side to show the glass corner, and a short slanted line at the top right.
Step 4: The water line
Draw a gentle wavy line across the tank, a little below the top, for the surface of the water. Stop it at the right side of the tank.
Step 5: Bubbles
Draw two small circles floating in the water, one on the left and one on the right. Add a few tiny dashes and dots nearby, and a little curl where the water meets the right side.
Step 6: Little fish
Draw three small fish. Start each with an oval body, add a tiny tail on one end, and put a dot for the eye.
Step 7: Seaweed
Draw tall, wiggly leaf shapes at the bottom left. Start each one at the bottom and curve it up like a long, wavy flame.
Step 8: Castle outline
Near the right side, draw a tall line up from the bottom, then step across to make a notch. Add a pointed tower top and bring the line down to the right glass edge.
Step 9: Castle door and sand
Draw a flat line across the castle under the pointed top, two tiny dots for windows, and an upside-down U for the door. Finish with bumpy hills of sand along the bottom.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a fish tank
- Draw the box lightly first. Then add the line near the top and the tall line down the right side to make the tank look like a 3D box.
- For each fish, draw the oval body first and add the tiny tail and eye after. Put the tails on different ends so the fish look like they are swimming in different directions.
- Draw the seaweed from the bottom up in one wiggly line, then come back down the other side to make a leaf shape.

Questions about drawing a fish tank
What shapes do I need to draw a fish tank?
You need a box for the tank, circles for the bubbles, ovals for the fish, and wavy lines for the water and seaweed. The sandcastle uses a tall block with a pointed top.
How do I make the tank look like glass?
Draw a line across the front near the top and a tall line down the right side. Those lines make the box look like it has depth, like real glass.
How do I make my fish look cuter?
Give each fish a round oval body and a small dot eye close to the front. Keep the tail tiny so the body looks big and friendly.
