Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: Face and whiskers
Draw a big round circle for the cat's head. Add two dots for eyes, a little wavy smile in the middle, and two short whisker lines sticking out from each side.
Step 3: Pointy ears
On each side of the top of the head, draw a triangle ear. Start at the head, go up to a point, then come back down to the head.
Step 4: The teacup
Under the head, draw a wide, flat line for the top of the cup. Then draw a big curve down from each end, like a bowl, and stop just before the two sides meet at the bottom.
Step 5: Little paws
Draw two small upside-down U shapes on the rim of the cup, one on each side. They look like paws holding on.
Step 6: Handle and saucer
On the right side of the cup, draw a curved handle like a backwards C. Then draw a long, flat oval under the cup for the saucer.
Step 7: A little heart
Draw a small heart in the middle of the cup. Start at the top dip, curve down each side, and meet in a point at the bottom.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a cat in a teacup
- Draw the head circle first and keep it light, so the whiskers and smile have room and the ears can tuck in around it.
- Keep the two whiskers on each side short and level, and place the eyes a little above the smile so the face looks sweet.
- The cup rim is a wide, slightly curved line. Draw it before the sides of the bowl so they have somewhere to start.
