How to draw a panda sitting and eating bamboo step by step

How to Draw a Panda Sitting and Eating Bamboo · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Head outline

Draw three curved lines for the head: a gentle arch across the top, and a curve on the left and one on the right for the cheeks. Leave gaps between them, because the ears will fit into the top corners next.

  2. Step 2: Two round ears

Add a half circle on each top corner of the head, one on the left and one on the right. Color them in solid so they look like two black buttons.

  3. Step 3: Body outline pieces

Under the head, draw a long curved line down the right side for the back, and a short curve near the bottom for the seat. Leave a gap between them, because the body is only partly drawn so far.

  4. Step 4: Eye patches and tail

Draw two solid oval eye patches on the face, with the inner ends a little higher than the outer ends. Then add a small solid round tail on the right side of the body, near the bottom.

  5. Step 5: Bamboo stalk pieces

In the middle of the face, below the eyes, draw a small tube shape with a rounded bottom and an open top. Add a tiny U shape lower down for the bottom end of the stalk.

  6. Step 6: Nose and leaf

Draw a small round nose between the eye patches. Then draw a little pointed leaf next to the top of the bamboo, like a tiny curved teardrop.

  7. Step 7: Arms holding on

Draw two chubby arms reaching in to hold the bamboo: a round paw on the left, and a long curved arm on the right that goes across the tummy. Draw a short stalk piece between them, and color both arms in solid.

  8. Step 8: Big sitting feet

At the bottom, draw two large ovals for the feet, one on each side of the body. Color them in solid.

  9. All done!

Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a panda sitting and eating bamboo

  • Draw the bamboo before the arms, then let the paws overlap it. That way it looks like the panda is really holding it.
  • Make the inner ends of the eye patches a little higher than the outer ends. This gives the panda a sweet, sleepy look.
  • Make the feet big and let them stick out at the sides of the body. Large feet help the panda look like it is sitting steady and cute.
