How to draw a kid in a shark costume step by step

How to Draw a Kid in a Shark Costume · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.

  2. Step 2: The shark hood

Draw a big wide oval for the hood, but stop before you close it at the bottom. Leave a small gap at the bottom, where the kid's neck will go.

  3. Step 3: The face opening

Inside the hood, draw a smaller oval low down, sitting near the bottom of the hood. Make the top edge a little bumpy, where the teeth will go next.

  4. Step 4: Teeth, eyes and smile

Draw a row of small zigzag points along the top of the face oval for shark teeth. Then add two round dots for eyes and a little curved smile below them.

  5. Step 5: The top fin

On top of the hood, draw a curved fin that looks like a pointed hook. Start on the hood, curve up to a point leaning to the right, and come back down to the hood.

  6. Step 6: The body

Under the hood, draw a short, wide box with rounded corners for the body. Start at the bottom edge of the hood and make the sides go straight down.

  7. Step 7: Side fins

Draw a pointed fin on each side of the body, starting near the top where the hood meets the body. Each fin sweeps out sideways to a point and curves back toward the body.

  8. Step 8: Legs and feet

Draw two very short lines going down from the bottom of the body for legs. Then draw a flat oval at the bottom of each leg for the feet.

  9. Step 9: The tail

On the right side, draw a tail that starts behind the body near the feet. Sweep a long curve along the ground to the right, then bring it up to a point and back.

  10. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a kid in a shark costume

  • Leave the bottom of the hood open, and draw the face oval low inside it, so the hood looks like a snug frame around the face.
  • The zigzag teeth are the trickiest part. Draw them as a row of small points along the top of the face oval, and go slowly so each point stays sharp.
  • Start the top fin on the hood and curve it up to a point that leans to the right, like a real shark fin.
