Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The coconut bowl
Draw a big round bowl shape that curves down to a rounded bottom. Leave the top open: draw a short curve at each top corner and leave a gap between them.
Step 3: The rim and front edge
Close the top by drawing the back edge of the rim, a gentle curve between the two top corners. Then draw a curve across the bowl from one side to the other to make the front edge of the opening.
Step 4: The bendy straw
Start inside the opening and draw two straight lines going up, side by side. Bend them to the right, then close the top with a short slanted line so the straw looks like a tube.
Step 5: The umbrella top
On the left, above the bowl, draw a half circle like a rainbow. Along the bottom edge, draw three or four small scallops, like little bumps in a row.
Step 6: The umbrella pole
Draw a straight line from the top of the umbrella, down through the middle of it, and into the drink. Let a tiny bit stick out above the top.
Step 7: The flower
Next to the straw, near the rim, draw a wobbly circle with soft bumps for petals. Add a small dot in the middle.
Step 8: The happy face
Draw two small dots for eyes and a little smile between them. Add a short slanted line on each side and one short line near the bottom.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a coconut drink
- Draw the bowl first with a light line. Make the rim as wide as the bowl, so the two sides meet it neatly.
- Draw the straw as two straight lines, then bend both lines at the same spot so the straw stays the same width all the way up.
- Make the umbrella scallops small and about the same size. Try a row of little bumps, like tiny hills, on scrap paper before you draw them on the umbrella.

How to color your coconut drink drawing
Color the shell warm brown, the straw red and white stripes, and the umbrella in rainbow colors. Make the flower yellow or pink with a bright center. You can also color the sky behind the coconut light blue.
Coconut drink fun fact for kids
Coconuts can float on seawater, so ocean currents can carry them to faraway beaches, where they may sprout into new palm trees.
