How to draw Bambi step by step

How to Draw Bambi · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Head and ears

Draw a rounded head shape that is a little wider at the cheeks. Add a leaf-shaped ear curving up on each top corner, so the head and ears are one connected outline.

  2. Step 2: Eyes

Draw two small circles inside the face, one on the left and one on the right, with space between them. Leave a tiny gap at the top of each circle for a sparkle.

  3. Step 3: Nose and mouth

Between the eyes and a little lower, draw a tiny curved line for the nose. Add a small curve under it for the smile.

  4. Step 4: Back and tail

Start at the right side of the head under the cheek and draw a wavy line going right for the back. Add a small leaf-shaped tail at the end, then curve the line down for the rump and the back leg.

  5. Step 5: Chest and tummy

Under the chin, draw a curved line down the front for the chest and front leg. Then add a short curve under the body for the tummy, leaving a gap in the middle.

  6. Step 6: Front legs

Draw two long, skinny legs hanging down from the tummy, close together. Make them narrow, a little bit slanted, and the same length.

  7. Step 7: Back legs

Draw two bent back legs with a gentle bend at the knee. Start them under the rump and let them overlap a little.

  8. Step 8: Little hooves

At the bottom of each of the four legs, draw a small curved shape like a tiny shoe and fill it in.

  9. All done!

Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing Bambi

  • Draw the head big compared to the body. A large head and large eyes are what make Bambi look so cute.
  • The legs are the trickiest part. Draw each one as two nearly straight lines that get a tiny bit closer together near the bottom.
  • Leave a small gap in each eye circle for the shiny spot, instead of trying to erase it later.

Bambi fun fact for kids

Baby deer are called fawns, and many fawns have white spots on their coats that help them hide in the dappled light of the forest.

Questions about drawing Bambi

What shapes do I need to draw Bambi?

You need a rounded shape for the head, two leaf shapes for the ears, a wavy line for the back, a small leaf shape for the tail and long thin shapes for the legs. Small curved shapes make the hooves.

How do I make my Bambi look cuter?

Make the head big and the eyes round, with a little space between them. Keep the nose and smile very small and low on the face.

How do I draw the legs so they look like they are standing?

Draw each leg straight down from the body, with all four feet ending at about the same line. Making the two back legs overlap a little gives a bent, natural look.
