Step 1: Top of the head
Start at the left of the head and draw a curved line up and over, then down the right side. It looks like the top and right side of a big round head. Leave the bottom left open for now.
Step 2: Finish head, start body
Finish the head with a curve along the lower left, connecting back to where you started. Then draw the round bottom of the body underneath, with a small pointy stinger on the left. Fill the stinger in dark.
Step 3: Wing, stripe and face
Draw a big round wing behind the head on the left. Add a curved stripe across the body and fill it in dark. Then give the bee two small dot eyes and a tiny smile.
Step 4: Antennae
Draw two short curved lines going up from the top of the head. Put a little ball at the end of each one.
Step 5: Butterfly wings
On the right, draw a big wavy wing shaped like a soft cloud. Add a smaller rounded wing hanging below it, joined at the left.
Step 6: Back wing and feelers
Draw a second, narrower wing peeking out above the big one. Then add two little curved feelers at the top left, where the wings meet.
Step 7: Butterfly eye
Add one round dot for the butterfly's eye on the left side of its body, facing the bee.
Step 8: A heart between friends
Draw a heart floating above the space between the two friends. Make two bumps on top that meet in a point at the bottom, then fill it in.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a bee and butterfly best friends
- Draw the bee's head first and let the wing and body tuck behind it. It is okay if the head overlaps them.
- The stripe is curved, not straight. Follow the round shape of the body so the bee looks plump.
- Butterfly wings have wavy edges. Draw them slowly in a few soft bumps, and do not worry about making both sides match.
