How to Draw a Goldendoodle Puppy (Easy Step by Step)
A goldendoodle puppy is a fun first dog to draw because it is made almost entirely of soft, round shapes. You will start with a bumpy, curly head, add floppy ears and a fluffy chin, and finish with a pear-shaped body and two chubby paws. The bumpy curls on top are the secret that makes it look like a doodle.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Fluffy head top
Starting at the left of your guide oval, draw a bumpy curly line over the top of the head. Keep going down the right side and curve it in toward the bottom right.
Step 3: Floppy ears and cheeks
On the left, draw a big rounded ear hanging down from the fluffy hair. Then add a short wiggly line down each side of the face, inside the ears, for the fluffy cheeks.
Step 4: The fluffy chin
Draw a gently bumpy curved line under the head, joining the bottom of one cheek to the bottom of the other. The little bumps make the chin look fluffy.
Step 5: Body sides
Starting under each cheek, draw a wiggly line down and out, so the body gets wider toward the bottom. End each line with a round curve that turns back in, like a chubby hip.
Step 6: Front paws
Along the bottom, draw two round, scalloped paw bottoms side by side. Close each side line with a smooth curve, and add two short lines going up in the middle between the paws.
Step 7: Outer toe lines
Draw one short line going up from the bottom edge of each paw, on the outer side. These show the toes.
Step 8: Two eyes
Draw two small solid round dots in the middle of the face with space between them. Make them the same size and at the same height.
Step 9: Nose and smile
Below and between the eyes, draw a short line going down. At its bottom, add two little curves side by side to make a happy smile.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a goldendoodle puppy
- Draw the head oval very lightly first, then make the curls along the top of it. Small, quick bumps look fluffier than big slow ones.
- Start the first ear where the curly hair on the left ends and let it swing out wide before it curves back in.
- Keep the eyes the same size and at the same height. Make the nose and smile small and tuck them right below and between the eyes so the puppy looks sweet.

How to color your goldendoodle puppy drawing
Try golden tan, apricot, or cream for the fur, with slightly darker ears. For a creative twist, add a bright bandana or a flower crown drawn around the neck or on top of the head.
Goldendoodle puppy fun fact for kids
A goldendoodle is a mix of a golden retriever and a poodle. The word poodle comes from the German word Pudel, which means to splash in water, because poodles were first bred as water retrievers.
