How to draw Jack and the Beanstalk step by step

How to Draw Jack and the Beanstalk · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.

  2. Step 2: The fluffy cloud

Draw a bumpy cloud shape. Start with a long flat line along the bottom, leaving a tiny gap in the middle, then add soft round bumps along the top.

  3. Step 3: The left tower

On top of the cloud, draw a tall thin rectangle for a tower. Add a small pointed triangle roof on top that is a little wider than the tower.

  4. Step 4: The right tower

Draw a second tall rectangle on the right side of the cloud, about the same size as the first. Top it with a pointed triangle roof.

  5. Step 5: The castle bridge

Draw one short straight bar between the two towers, near their roofs, so the castle looks like one building.

  6. Step 6: Vine and monkey

Starting under the cloud, draw two wavy lines that twist down like a ribbon. Halfway down, add a little monkey hugging the vine, with a round head, two dot eyes, a small body and a long arm. Near the bottom, add one round leaf on the right side of the vine.

  7. Step 7: More leaves

Draw more rounded, heart-like leaves sticking out from the vine: two near the top and one near the bottom on the left. Finish with a short curvy line at the bottom for the end of the vine.

  8. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing Jack and the Beanstalk

  • Draw the cloud first and make the bumps different sizes. A cloud with matching bumps can look like a row of pancakes.
  • Keep both towers about the same height. Draw one tower, then look at it as you draw the second.
  • The vine is the trickiest part. Draw it as two wavy lines that stay about the same distance apart, and go slowly around the monkey.
